The National Unity Government (NUG) and the Chinland Council met for the first time on May 17, 2024 and reached an agreement to cooperate. Salai Paul, secretary of Chinland Council, said that they agreed to cooperate in relevant sectors.

“This meeting is the first meeting. We have agreed to hold a dialogue on the activities to be carried out based on the four common agreements. It is the same as the first preliminary meeting. Regarding the details of our administrative, military and political issues, we have a process of cooperation with people from various sectors,” he said.

This meeting was attended by the Acting President of NUG, Chairman of the Cooperation Commission between the Union Government and the Federal State Units (FSCC), Acting President Duwa Shila, Deputy Chairman of the Union Prime Minister Mann Win Khaing Than, FSCC member Union Ministers, Chairman of Chinland Council Pu Zing Cung and members. It has been announced that officials from the 3 pillars of the Chinland Council, Chairman of the Chinland Council , Pu Hung Nai, Prime Minister of the Chinland Government, Pu Par than, and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Chinland Council, Pu Thomas Thang No, attended the meeting.

Salai Paul also said that there was an agreement between the FSCC and the Chinland Council to hold regular meetings for future processes. FSCC and Chinland Council have announced that they have agreed on four steps forward for cooperation, but no details have been released. The Chinland Council was formed at a meeting on December 6, 2023, and the Chinland government was formed on February 1st of this year with 14 ministries.
