Chin State, Tedim township, Tedim residents said that the Military Council troops blew up the Mansuang River bridge on the Rih border trade road on the morning of June 8, 2024. A local resident, who did not want to be named for security reasons, told Tongsan Media that the 40-strong column raided Lamzang village near Mansuang Bridge this morning and destroyed the bridge with mines.

“I heard the sound of a mine. I’m not sure what it was. I found out that the Mansuang Bridge was destroyed at noon. It didn’t collapse, but I couldn’t go at all. It’s raining now, and there’s a lot of water, so I can’t go under the bridge.”

Mansuang Bridge is a type of suspension bridge on the Manipur River and is said to be important for border trade. The local people said that there could be a shortage of goods due to the damage of the bridge.
