A local resident, who did not want to be named for security reasons, told Tongsan Media that the 40-strong column raided Lamzang village near Mansuang Bridge this morning and destroyed the bridge with mines.

“I heard the sound of a mine. I’m not sure what it was. I found out that the Mansuang Bridge was destroyed at noon. It didn’t collapse, but I couldn’t go at all. It’s raining now, and there’s a lot of water, so I can’t go under the bridge.”

Mansuang Bridge is a type of suspension bridge on the Manipur River and is said to be important for border trade. The local people said that there could be a shortage of goods due to the damage of the bridge.
