Led by Chairman Khu Oo Reh, the new Executive Council in the red state will seek semi-state governance-style functions, legislative and judicial branches across the state through cooperative leadership and build a unifying relationship between all of the anti-junta resistance forces in the state. The Karenni armed groups have been at the forefront of the fight against the junta regime and have suffered heavy losses over the years. The formation of this new entity is seen as a way to protect the people of the state and to ensure that their sacrifices have not been in vain.
